PULASKI TRIP, Spring 2009

PULASKI TRIP, Spring 2007
Saturday April 28: Day 1

With an early afternoon start, we first noticed water conditions were expectly high for the river. Considering there was light rain throughout the day, tempertures in the 50's made fishing surprisingly comfortable with the appropriate gear: hats, raincoats, waders, and STEELHEAD! Between everyone, easily 10 steelhead landed with many more broken hook up's throughout this day.

Sunday April 29: Day 2
After a very successful first day, we had to return to the same spot. From 11am to 8pm, we were on the river with repeated success. More of the same wet weather in the morning with sunny skies and warm weather for the rest of the day. Late afternoon was especially busy with lots of hook up's nearing dusk. A long day with amazing results. Easily the best day of the trip!

Monday April 30: Day 3
Got to the river(same spot) little after 9am on a chilly morning, and water levels were definitely down. Father and son Capes struck first with a pair of male steelhead with in a half hour of each other. A strong morning for all since everyone caught a nice fish. The afternoon was much slower so we tried a different spot on the river, only to return to the fly-only zone for James' final catch of the day.

Tuesday May 1st: Day 4
Before hitting the road for good and out of Pulaski, James and Tom fished another 3 hours for one last try. Not a waste! Each caught one final steelhead for the trip, hit the local cheese store, then headed home.
