Weekly Guide Trip Report 11/01-11/08

On November 1st, Chris from Manhattan joined me for a day on the South Branch. After a rough beginning to the fall, the South Branch finally has decent flow. Water temps have been hovering in the mid to low 50's. Chris was looking to expand his overall knowledge of the sport while enjoying a gorgeous autumn day on the water.
In the first spot that Chris fished, he connected with several trout, including the fish pictured below and an acrobatic rainbow that threw the hook after the third jump.
As the day proceeded, Chris continued to hook fish fairly consistently, including one truely large fish (20 inch class) that we only got a glimpse of as it came rocketing out of the water upon hook-up.

Regular clients John and Thomas joined me on the 7th for a full day on the Musconetcong. Our goal was to get into a few of the fall stocked brutes and work on handling and landing large fish in fast water with light tippets. We did get into some nice trout, but none of the 20 inch brutes we were looking for. Thomas was top rod for the day, while John had one of "those days".
All in all a really nice day with warm November weather that dosen't come along all that often.
